How to Set Up Your Trezor Wallet via Trezor.io/start

Let’s walk through the full setup process.

Unboxing and Initial Setup

Open your Trezor box carefully. Ensure that the holographic seal is intact—this guarantees your device hasn't been tampered with.

Now head over to your web browser and type in https://trezor.io/start.

Download Trezor Suite

You’ll be prompted to download Trezor Suite, a desktop application used to manage your wallet. It’s available for:

  • Windows
  • MacOS
  • Linux

Install it and launch the application.

Connect Your Trezor Device

Using the USB cable provided:

  • Plug your Trezor device into your computer.
  • Allow Trezor Suite to detect your device.

At this point, the device might ask for a firmware update. If so, allow it.

Create a New Wallet

In Trezor Suite:

  • Click “Create new wallet”
  • Confirm on your device
  • You’ll now be asked to write down your recovery seed (12 or 24 words)

What is a Recovery Seed?

This seed is your ultimate backup. Think of it like the master key to your entire crypto vault. Write it down. Don’t screenshot. Don’t save it digitally. Definitely don’t lose it.

Confirm the seed by entering selected words when prompted.
